Patrick has more than 20 years' experience in the waste management and resource recovery industries. He is a Chartered Waste Manager awarded through the Chartered Institute of Waste Management in the UK. Patrick has worked in both government and private sectors in Australia and Europe and has built an enviable reputation for his skills, knowledge and high level of customer service. He has managed major landfills, recycling and resource recovery facilities, as well as collection contracts, contractors and consultancy services.

Steve Cantrill
General Manager
Steve joined IOS from Gold Coast City Council and has had extensive operational and managerial experience in the Waste Management and Resource Recovery industry in South East Queensland. Some of Steve’s relevant experience includes:
City of Gold Coast – Senior Coordinator Waste Operations and Infrastructure
From 2008 to June 2017 Steve was responsible for the operation of 2 major landfill facilities and 5 closed landfill facilities. He was also responsible for the management and operation of 12 waste transfer stations located between Yatala and the NSW boarder. His role included the management of upgrades to these facilities including cell development, capping, landfill gas and leachate infrastructure and the liaison with DEHP. At the Gold Coast Steve was responsible for the management operational budgets in excess of $30,000,000 pa and capital budgets in excess of $60,000,000 pa.
Redland City Council – Senior Waste Planner and Coordinator Waste Management
From 1995 to 2008 Steve worked at Redland City Council in the waste management section including 10 years as Coordinator Waste Management and 3 years as Senior Waste Planner. As Coordinator Waste Management Steve was responsible for leading the operations of 3 of Councils landfill facilities and eight transfer stations. Landfill management also included upgrades to the infrastructure including cell development, capping, installation of leachate and landfill gas infrastructure and the construction of transfer station facilities.

Cate is responsible for corporate administration, including the day to day operations of Iolar Operational Services financial, accounting, administrative and employee management systems. Cate has several years’ experience in corporate administration, previously working for Griffith University as a Clinic Administrator. Cate's key skills include staff administration and business systems management.

Angela (Ange) provides extensive administrative and accounts support to the IOS business. Ange has a broad administrative and accounting experience that is a valuable asset to the IOS corporate team.

Andrew has more than 16 years’ experience in retail and service industries, and for the past five years has specialised in waste management and resource recovery. Today he manages the six island transfer stations, two mainland gatehouses, resource recovery and recycle market operations as part of Iolar’s waste management contract with RedWaste (Redland City Council). Andrew has made a number of efficiency improvements at the transfer stations, resulting in significant cost savings.
David Gray

Trish has an extensive career in managing businesses and employees and experience in the implementation of a strategic direction and overarching governance of a community based organisation constitution. Trish has played a primary role in the establishment of a number of ventures aimed at creating positive change in the community and increasing environmental awareness and sustainability. Since joining IOS Trish continues to create positive change in her position as Operations Manager, Sunshine Coast.

Nicola Hankin
Project Engineer
Nicola is a Project Engineer with 18 years experience in the waste management, civil engineering and energy industries in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Nicola has extensive experience in both the public and private sector of the waste management industry, with roles based in the client, consultancy, operational and contracting sectors. Nicola has designed, constructed and operated landfill facilities and transfer stations. Works have included landfill capping, stormwater infrastructure, gas and leachate systems, tender documentation and cost benefit analysis.
Nicola has developed and reviewed numerous policy, procedure and other management documentation for IOS and takes an active role in the continuous improvement of IOS systems and procedures.

Operational Staff
Iolar also has some 60 transfer station/ landfill attendants, weighbridge staff and plant operators working at a number of sites throughout South East Queensland.
